Therapy for Everyone

Who Do You Work With?

If you’ve spent some time elsewhere on this site, you know that my primary focus is on Men’s Issues. But what if you have other issues you’d like to address? Maybe men’s issues don’t apply to you at all but you like what you see and want to work with me. Are you out of luck?

Not even a little bit.

Maybe you’re experiencing grief over the loss of a friend or barely contained rage at the co-worker from hell. Maybe you’re frustrated because every time you try to stand up for yourself, you freeze up and don’t understand why. I’m ready to help you with the anxiety, depression, and emotional ups and downs that might prompt you to contact me for therapy.

Is There Anyone You Won’t Work With?

While I won’t turn anyone away, there are issues that I won’t address for ethical reasons. For me, this includes things such as eating disorders, addictions, and complex trauma. In these cases, I’d refer you to someone else who has the specific training needed to help you. If you want work with me on other stuff that’s great but I won’t try to address an issue when I’m out of my league.

How About Kids?

I work with adults, teens, and tweens. Basically, I need to be able to do talk therapy with them. If they’re young enough that they can’t express their concerns or feelings through words, then we’re in play therapy territory. This is another specialty where I don’t have the necessary expertise to help, so I’ll respectfully make a referral to another therapist.
